![]() In Mississauga, more than 40,000 catch basins funnel rain and snowmelt into our storm drainage system. The storm water that goes down our storm sewer drains ends up untreated in Lake Ontario, unlike water from our sinks and toilets, which goes to a sewage treatment plant before reaching the lake. Our water quality can be threatened by lawn chemicals, oil, soap and other substances that may enter our storm sewer drains through rain runoff, driveway washing or by deliberate dumping. You can help protect our water through environmentally-responsible action. |
